Ukraine, Czech Republic and Hungary are the three teams following Scotland, Croatia, Albania,... back home after the EURO 2024 group stage.
At the end of the final match of the group stage, Ukraine drew 0-0 with Belgium and ranked last in Group E. In this group, all 4 teams had the lowest difference.
Ukraine (4 points) was eliminated, while Slovenia, the 3rd place team in Group C, with only 3 points, qualified for the round of 16. Denmark also only has 3 points but still confidently entered the next round, as the 2nd ranked team in Group C.
In the later match, the Czech Republic played with determination but lost players quite early, then suffered a 1-2 defeat to Türkiye. In Group F, the Czech Republic ranked last with 1 point and was eliminated.
Also in Group F, Georgia created a shock when defeating the opponent 68 places higher on the FIFA rankings, Portugal with a score of 2-0. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and his teammates rose to 3rd place in Group F with 4 points and will have a ticket to continue thanks to the spot reserved for one of the 3rd place teams with good results at EURO.
Georgia's victory pushed Hungary out of the top 4 teams with good results. Hungary only had 3 points and became the last team eliminated from EURO 2024.
Accordingly, Scotland, Croatia, Albania, Serbia, Poland, Ukraine, Czech Republic and Hungary are the eight teams that will bid farewell to the largest European national team tournament this summer. The remaining 16 teams will be divided into pairs to compete in the knockout round
